"DATE" information missing in MM - retagging doesn

Hello!
I have been using MM for quite a while now, and I am really happy with it...
However.

Now I have "suddenly" about 2000 tracks without any date information in MM (3.0.2.1134), which I corrected today -took my two and a half hours. Now I have rescanned the library, and all this information is missing again.
I am using ID3v2.3 - UTF16 format. Most songs "worked" properly until 3 days ago.

(Mp3tag and Foobar show the date information, so I suppose it exists)

As I use MM to synchronize my PMP, I am really worried that these tracks would either cause a corruption to the database in the worst case (well, I am using a Cowon, you know how sensitive they are!), or mess up the way they show up on the player (I hate when year is shown as unknown).

How can I have this information showing up properly again?

I too have found funny stuff with Date... perhaps due to confusion with Year. Perhaps MM is just failing to show dates that are still intact - Mp3Tag will show you.

Do you mean that "Date"and "Year" are not the same thing in MM?

But that doesn't explain the fact that after re-tagging the "date" thing it doesn't show after the library re-scan. If I decide to spend again time on fixing these tracks, I would like to be sure it works!

Definitely thay are not, but more, that Date in MM is not the same as Year in some tag formats.

Does it show in Mp3tag?

The "Year" shows in mp3tag as year//year.
As far as I remember the year would show normally with MM2 (without this double slash).

Can not say that this will fix your problem.
However, numerous Date issues have been addressed in the Betas subsequent to the release that you are running.
Maybe give 3.0.3.1177 a try and see if that fixes it for you.

Thank you, I will give it a try this week. I will post the results, in case anyone has the same issue...

Funny, dBpoweramp pop up shows also correct information when I have the pointer over the files in explorer...
Should I report this in the bug forum?
