Podcast File Renaming

Post by pterrell »

Is there a way to turn off renaming received podcast files? Or better customize it?

I think that the renaming feature is great for some podcasts that have no episode info in the title. But for those that do, I'd prefer to have the file with the original filename.

I can't find any documentation on the use of <Artist> and <Title>. I've played around with them, but I still get the files renamed.

I really like how MediaMonkey integrates the player and podcast client, which is why I upgraded to Gold in ver 2.

At Tools -> Options -> Podcasts you can change the save location. If you want to use the original file name just save with the <Filename> property.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I had not connected the "masks" used in ripping CDs and the like with the instructions for the podcast download directory. Duh!

The only problem is that it applies it globally. It would be great if the masks could be altered for each podcast. Most of the podcasts I get have a sequential filename. But a few have a filename that appears to be some random number and it would be great to format the name with the <title> info.

Cheers!
