Re: Install Uninstall inis v1.3 (29-08-08) [MM3]
okay heres my take on it.? like normal i want it to do something else that might not be the norm in what is meant to be completed by a script.
but here goes.
this just makes the ini files.
if it was made to zip up all the skin files needed for the mmip file then what about it being able to find a non needed by program for operation files that might be needed placed in the skin.
like in my trucking monkey skin there is need of images to be used to show you how to use that skin because there is no normal looking player controls on that skins players.
so it needs to have an extra line in the install and uninstall files just for placing those in a folder and telling the skin user where they were placed, and then have it remove them if the skin is removed,
so how would that be made in your script?
since the images would be found in one folder then placed in another folder on another users computer.

Make a new folder
...My Documents\Trucking Monkey skin install
This is where the Install.ini, Uninstall.ini etc will be and where you browse to from the script
Make a new folder
...My Documents\Trucking monkey skin install\Skins
Put you skin.msz file here
Make a new folder
...My Documents\Trucking monkey skin install\Trucking Monkey Instructions
Put you instructions here
Run the script fill in the details to create the 2 inis
Zip up the files and folders in
...My Documents\Trucking Monkey skin install
and rename it TruckingMonkey.mmip
The skin is put in ...MediaMonkey\Skins'
The instructions are put in ...MediaMonkey\Trucking Monkey Instructions

I know it's only a small thing, but you could do the zipping as well if you borrowed some code from my "Backup" script - this would be even better!

Re: Install Uninstall inis v1.3 (29-08-08) [MM3]
so i see the script is an auto write script, but the files have to be in folders called install ? or is that wrong?
i thought the script was just looking in the folder you told it to in order to find the needed files. and then i thought it would gather them from where ever they were and zip them.
but now you said that, it looks like a good script to use to make the ini files but not zip them up, yet if you can do what trixmoto suggested,.
i already have the truckingmonkey mmip made, but your instructions here will help others and that is what i was trying to do. so thanks for the instructions.
