Common folder art, same name album

Post by Guest »

Using common folder for art, there seems to be a problem when you have multiple albums with the same names, such as greatest hits. How can this be solved when the artwork would have the same name?

common folder for artwork

I'd suggest giving each piece of Album Art a unique name (e.g. Greatest Hits - Eagles, Greatest Hits - Beatles, etc.).

You don't have that choice when auto tagging from Amazon and saving the picture to a common folder.

I just tested this out and unless I've not tested a particular testcase, I think that there isn't a bug.

When MM is set to save an image to a common folder, the filename given to the image via the Auto-Tag from Amazon dialog is the Artist - Album combination given returned by Amazon.

If this filename happens to match an existing filename, a dialog appears asking something along the lines of : The filename is identical to xxxx. Would you like to overwrite [Yes] [No] [Cancel]. Clicking [No] causes a dialog to open that allows you to change the filename.

This would seem to deal with the issue that's been raised. No?
