RC5: computing LARGE filesizes from sync list (Major issue)

Post by Octopod »

Here is the scenario:
- declare a device (no need to connect it)
- go to sync options
- select a LARGE sync list (i identified the problem with about 20Gb): the quicker is to select tracks by location
- then ask for total size: really often, as soon MM finished to compute, the resulting dialogue pops then immediately disappear => need to kill MM as it is not possible to close any of the opened dialogues.

(i personally think the resulting dialogue is hidden behind the option one when the computing time is too long).

Hope this could be fixed before final release.

I couldn't reproduce this, don't you use some plug-in or something that could somehow do this to shown windows?

No specific plugin running; just using a generic mass storage USB
Skinned version
MM2.3.1.843 (RC5)
Win XP pro (SP0)

I admit it was hard to reproduce (actually it seems there only is a problem when i don't want :-? ). Well, i finally generated and sent a debug log. I hope it can help.

Let me know if you need more info/tests.

Hi,

Any news about this? Was the debug log useful?

I also observed a problem after several auto-organize (of tracks not declared in the library). All was OK until the 4th album: the tracks were moved but MM did not asked if the related cover (same directory) had to be moved.

I did it manually but when i minimized MM i discovered the missing dialog was behind the main window. This dialog disappeared as soon MM was minimized.

I think there is a real problem, generally speaking, with transient and/or modal dialogs, especially when the "dialog depth" is > 2.

Is anybody else experiencing this? We weren't able to reproduce, it looks like it's something specific to your machine, should you have any other information, let me know.

Just a quick note to add that my MM was not closed since my last post and each time i minimized it i saw the missing dialog's ghost in the background.

After resizing MM's main window (was almost full screen), i finally get back the dialog and succeeded in closing it!

Can't reproduce this

I don't have a 20GB collection, but I tried to reproduce this with about 10GB and cannot.

Is anyone still experiencing this issue?
