synching 2 iPods?
Hello all. I am going to have two iPOD classics. Currently I am using MediaMonkey to sync the first one with my desktop-PC - with no problems. Is there a chance to simply add another "classic"? Or would I have to use another sync-software?

You can use both ipods with different setting, but do not try to use them both in same time and you should be OK.

Re: synching 2 iPods?
Can someone explain how please? I am currently synching two ipods on MM with two different playlists. Have configured each device to synch its own playlist but when I connect the other one, it is picking up the wrong playlist to synch.Peke wrote:You can use both ipods with different setting, but do not try to use them both in same time and you should be OK.
Or am I just being a dunce?
Thanks
Am now thinking it maybe because, with one device attached at a time, windows allocates the same drive letter to both devices and so MM thinks they are the same ipod and just uses the last playlist synched? Does that make sense? If so, how do I get around that? Can I allocate a drive letter to each (didn't think I could)?
Thanks
Re: synching 2 iPods?
I'm having this problem too. I have two iPod shuffles - one for audiobooks and podcasts and one for music. Naturally, they are synced to different playlists and have different settings:
Shuffle 1 is named "Podcasts/Audiobooks" and is synced to:
An audiobook of my choosing under the auto-sync list>audiobooks tab in "device configuration"
A bunch of podcasts under the auto-sync>podcast subscriptions tab in "device configuration"
Shuffle 2 is named "Gym/Running" and is synced to:
A single playlist under the auto-sync>playlist tab in "device configuration"
Unfortunately, regardless of which iPod I plug in, it's sync rules become that of the last one I had plugged in, i.e. MM seems to think they are the same device and so syncs them both to just one of the above scenarios. So if I plug in the "Podcasts/Audiobooks" one, set up the sync rules above and sync it, then plug in the "Gym/Running" one it will also sync to the audiobook and podcasts rules.
Any suggestions on how to stop this happening and have MM treat them as discrete entities?
I know it seems dumb having two shuffles but I find them convenient to use (don't have to reach into your pocket and turn off a lock to pause it if you wanna talk to someone - just press pause) and I alternate the two so frequently that having just one would mean spending a LOT of time syncing it to one list then the other etc.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Seems like we are not alone, and the problem persists. Rats.
