Beta 1244: High CPU load on background task

Background auto volume levelling pushes the cpu load to almost 100% on my machine. CPU is an Intel P4E 3400MHz Hyperthreading, memory is 1GB. Even setting the priority for background processes to idle makes no difference at all. Thus, the system is almost unusable while the background levelling is running.

This seems to be working correctly on my system. i.e. when I set background processes to 'idle' auto-leveling is barely active unless nothing else is happening.

Anyone else observing this problem?

Yes, I'm getting 100% CPU when deleting tracks. I first noticed this tonight after switching to the Wave Out option rather than Direct Sound.
