1247 problems with ripping some tracks
I don't know if I'm the only one with this problem but here it is:
I got a very strange problem in build 1247. When I rip an album it doesn't rip all the songs. Firts it seemed a bit randomly but now it seems to skip just track# 2 and 3. MM does rip those songs the second time when I only check those songs.
I can replicate this all the time, just rip a whole album.

Re: 1247 problems with ripping some tracks
I cannot reproduce your problem.
Anyone?
How many CPU cores do you have?
What is your Options|Performance|Ripping: [] settings?
Do you think it is possible to create an image of the CD and send it to me so that I could possibly reproduce the issue?

Re: 1247 problems with ripping some tracks
I have a quadcore, and assigned CPU core for every task so setting for Ripping is [3]
I am not familiar with creating images of CD's but I had this problem with 6 different CDs and all missed some tracks.

Re: 1247 problems with ripping some tracks
Ok, could you set Options|Performance|Ripping: [2] and see whether it is reproducible for 2 cores.
My guess is that it is related to more than 3 cores settings.

Re: 1247 problems with ripping some tracks
I couldn't reproduce it with the Options|Performance|Ripping: [2] setting.
So problem fixed for now.

Re: 1247 problems with ripping some tracks
Thank you, but it doesn't mean the problem is fixed.
The problem seems to exist for Quad core processors.
I have dual core, I have tried to simulate quad core processor, but I couldn't reproduce your issue.
Is it still reproducaible with
Options|Performance|Ripping: [3/4] settings?
Anyone else with Quad core can reproduce this bug?

Re: 1247 problems with ripping some tracks
I have a quad core and will give it a try
i will let you know what the results are
Re: 1247 problems with ripping some tracks
I cant reproduce.
Brouwerik could you explain how you start your ripping process? I normally just right click on the cd node and select rip audio cd? and what are you ripping to? mp3 wma etc? So that i can see if i can reproduce it too.

Thank you Robojock.

@Robojack:
I rip via:
Tools | Rip audio CD (Shift+Ctrl+R) to MP3: Insane: CBR ~320 kbps - Highest Quality
@Ludek:
I can reproduce this bug with:
Options|Performance|Ripping: [3/4] settings

Re: 1247 problems with ripping some tracks
I still cant reproduce
Re: 1247 problems with ripping some tracks
I also still cannot reproduce by simulating Quad Core and I reviewed the code and haven't found a reason for this.
I wonder whether this could be somehow related to number of tracks on the CD.
@Brouwerik
Does this problem occur for all your CDs or just for some with any specific number of tracks?

Re: 1247 problems with ripping some tracks
I've tested it about 15 times with CDs with a different number of tracks.
It looks a bit randomly since I ripped the one CD twice. First it skipped 2+3. Second it skipped 1+3
I also saw something strange in the statusbar:
While ripping the first track you see: converting file 1 of 11 (<track #1>) this is correct
While ripping ALL other tracks you see e.g.: converting file 8 of 11 (<track #2>)
So between the parentheses it keeps saying it is ripping track #2 , while it actually didn't rip that specific song.

Re: 1247 problems with ripping some tracks
Interesting, stumbled over this type of problem somewhat earlier and asked in the help forum whether someone had seen similar, see here:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =1&t=39326
nothing has changed in the meantime, it also happens on two completely different systems:
#1: Intel P4, 2GB Mem, 500GB Disk, XP Pro/SP3, Desktop, ATI HD4350, 1Gbps LAN, NEC DVD-Writer
#2: AMD TL-60 (Mobile) 2-Cores, 2GB Mem, 160GB Disk, Vista Bus/SP1, ATI X1250, 11g Wireless, Notebook
It's still mostly track2, occasionally track1 or track3, sometimes all tracks get ripped
Still both systems rip with no tracks missing when using programs such as Winoncd 2009 or Ashampoo Burning Studio 2009
and sill not a big problem but an annoyance since the missing track can be highlighted again and so far always was ripped without a hitch.
