Multiple Album Art Storage

Post by Flamsmark »

In the 'auto-tag from amazon' window, in the options menu, there are three options for where to save album art: to the file's tag; to the album's folder; or to a specific folder for all artwork. [there is a fourth, but that just sets a prompt to ask you every time]. Is it possible to do more than one of these? For compatiability and self-contained data, I want my files to have the artwork in their tags. For ease of browsing my music folders, I'd like the art to be saved in the albums' folders. And it'd be nice to have a gallery of all my album art too.

Is this possible? If not, could it be added in a future release, because it doesn't strike me as being that complex to introduce, seing as MM can already do these things, it just hasn't been told to do them at the same time.

You are right, that's something that I need too. I think MM developers should take the possiblitiy to change these options from [Option buttons] to [Check buttons]. Maybe you should put that request into MediaMonkey Wislist forum.

But for now, I think the only thing we can do is running the tag 3 times, by changing the options each time, for album art in Tag, album's folder and specific folder. It's longer but it's working.

Good idea.
Currently I have some songs tagged with art, some saved into it's own folder and others into a single album art folder.

I'd be happy to have multiple copies of the art in all these locations or have a method of combining them into one or more locations.
