Post by Numbnuts »

Installing mm2.4.2 rc3 on winxp home sp1 the program will not open but will throw an error repeatedly until I kill the application using the task manager.

PC is

I am sending the debug info to the support email (mm242_access_violation.log) but the relavent exception is below.

Why are you using mm2.4.2 rc3, have you tried 2.4.2 final? Please e-mail me a debug log using this latest version.

Thanks,
Jiri

Jiri,

I downloaded and installed 2.4.2 final and had the same results. The 2.4.2 final version did not produce any debug output. The only debug info I can provide is that which was obtained used http://www.mediamonkey.com/sw/MediaMonkey_Debug.exe unless there is another way to get this info.

Please let me know if there is another way to obtain this information.

Thank you.

Please generate a full debug log as described here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=69 (i.e. using DebugView application). Then please e-mail it to me.

Thanks,
Jiri

I followed the instructions on the post you sent. The installation of the debug version went through to completion to the point where it asks if you want to "launch" the application.

When I run the application I get the following error.

MediaMonkey_Debug.exe - Unable To Locate Component
This application has failed to start because ID3Lib.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

Re-installing the application did not resolve the problem. I also did a clean boot and tried to re-install without success.

Any suggestions on the next steps?
Thank you

I should also add that no debug information was posted to the debug utility.

Did you install the Debug Version into the already existing MediaMonkey-Directory? You'll have to!

debug...

Post by Numbnuts »

the debug version was installed in the correct directory. I have resent the initial debug log (see first post in thread) to support@mediamonkey.com with the subject of "mm242_access_violation.log"

In looking in the log, it looks as if I was using the correct debug version from the beginning (not the RC3 version).
