This is to follow-up with something Anubis touched on in the following post:
Multi-display Support
I recently built a "multimedia" center for my wife, which is situated nicely in our entertainment center and basically has two, and only two, functions:
(1) It runs MediaMonkey
(2) It cycles family photos after 3 minutes pause (like an ever changing picture frame)
I have the computer connected to a Harmon Kardon receiver and stereo system to play MP3s from the MM library (it was easier to do it this way and teach her MM than to keep burning CDs for her). I was going to use a good quality PC to TV converter (found some good ones from GrandTec), but I just couldn't for the life of me get it clear enough (via settings, lower resolution, etc.)
I eventually took the converter back and just spent a little bit more for a cheap black flat panel (which ended up working GREAT!).
I agree with Anubis that it would be nice if MM had an interface which addressed this situation: (1) The same interface with more font customization, or (2) a separate minimal interface. I don't know that this would be a priority as I doubt there are a lot of individuals like Anubis and myself, but you never know :)
As an example, if anyone has used the Logitech diNovo keyboard, you may be familiar with the Media Center. Excellent application for exactly what we are describing, but it just doesn't have the rich features of MM.
On a similar note, it would also be nice to be able to have some kind of "hook" into MM for the keyboard. For example, with the media functions on the keyboard often being customizable, how awesome would it be to have it point to a function within MM, like skip to the next track or play and pause!

You could create 3 Files (*.vbs) and include these scripts in them. Then you can link the Scripts to your customizable keys of your keyboard. That's how I did it and it works for me.agapeincognito wrote: On a similar note, it would also be nice to be able to have some kind of "hook" into MM for the keyboard. If you need some more functions, maybe I can help you too.
