1349: Problems with Find more from folder functions [#7933]
Hallo guys, I have a problem with MediaMonky, which exists in Version 3, too.
If I right click a song and select "Find more from Same\Folder (Library)" node from the context menu, MedieMonkey does not navigate to the folder.
I traced the issue with DebugView and found the following entries:
[4512] NodePath: E:\Musik\06. CD Fertig\Trance & Dance\CD_025 - (Alben)\RMB\05 - RMB - Fatal Illusion - 1997.mp3
[4512] MyMusicPath: E:\Musik\
No matter what path I try, only the "Location" node expands but nothing else. MM does not navigate to the selected folder in the library. The bug exists under "Entire Library" node as well as under "Music" node. Other "Find more from Same" functions work well.
I know it worked in earlier versions of MM. I am not sure, which version was the first, the function stopped working for me.
As MM does find each of the files, I don't think it is a broken library, but I am not sure where to start further/deeper investigation.

It works here on 1349 and has always worked for me. Are you working with a library upgraded from MediaMonkey 3?

Re: 1349: Problems with "Find more from folder" functions
Yes I do. I copied and imported my MediaMonkey 3 library as I do not want to loose all my statistical information (when files were added, played last time and so on).
I also thought about this might be the problem. Maybe something is broken within the database file? Is there a way to find out what?

Re: 1349: Problems with "Find more from folder" functions
... The library is not the problem. I created a new one some minutes ago. Same problem. All "find more from same" functions work, but the "folder (library)" not.

Works fine for me in MM3 and MM4 (build 1349), can't reproduce.

Re: 1349: Problems with "Find more from folder" functions
Looks to be working here as well.
Re: 1349: Problems with "Find more from folder" functions
Strange.
No matter what I try, it does not work at least for my drive E: where all my music is located. I even installed clean MM4 - no scripts, no skins, nothing. "Find more from same folder (library)" does not work.
I copied some files over to my system partition and added them to the library. "Find more from same folder (library)" works fine. Trying the same with an external drive - works fine, too.
All drives are encrypted by TrueCrypt:
System partition / drive C: 64GB SSD - works
Data drive E: 2TB Western Digital EARS - does not work
External drive V: 300GB - works
As far as I found out, the drive is not identified by its mount point / drive letter, but by its serial number by MM? May simply my drive I not been identified correctly and therefore navigating aborts?

Maybe a debug log can show why this happens as it's obviously something very particular causing this: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=6&t=341

I have no account in this forum, therefore I paste the debug log in here.
But in fact, I can't find anything helpful within it.
System:
CPU: Intel Q9440
OS: Windows 7 Professional x64
HDDs: see my previous post
What I did:
1. browse to "Entire Database\Artist & Album Artist\1-800-Def
2. select the song in the list
3. right click to open context menu
4. select "find more from same\folder (library)"
This is what dbgview.exe tells about it:

Re: 1349: Problems with "Find more from folder" functions
The issue still exists in build #1350. I even checked the serial number of the partition. It is identical to the one in MediaMonkey's library. I can't find the reason for the malfunction.
Could you therefore log some more debug information of the navitation process itself, so I can trace it more detailed. Maybe we can find out then, why it does not work for me.
The only technical difference between the not working partition e: and the other ones is, the drive (e:) has a sector size of 1024 bytes instead of 512, but I don't think this can cause the issue.
Thanks.

Re: 1349: Problems with "Find more from folder" functions
I got EXACTLY the same problem. All "find more from" options except "Folder (library)" work fine for me. It does work on external HDD and System Partition, but not on my Data Partition "D:\" (which is on the same physical driva as System "C:\") It's a fresh 1351 install. Same problem with new MM4 database and my old converted MM3. The only action happening is that MM would expand the Media tree to the Location Node with my Data drive D:\ and UPnP Servers listed. Track list is not changing. Same behaviour in Entire Library as in Music Node. All tracks can be listened to, be found by search etc. but just not to be found that way.

Here it works on finding the track on a different partition on the main drive.

Hmm, that's strange. Is anyone else having that Problem? Still the same on 1355. I usually use that function quite alot and couldn't find out why it doesn't work. Thought it could have to do with permissions, but I set them all the same on the different drives.

The problem was solved with a fresh System install for me. Finding all folders now, yeah!
