Changes to Output Plug-Ins require restart

Post by Superfly »

When you change an Output Plug-In (Tools/Options/Output Plug-ins), you have to restart the application for the changes to take effect.

It doesn't matter if you change the options of an already selected output plugin or change to a new output plugin, you get the same result.

I use Skype a lot for work and have USB headphones plugged in. I switch from headphones to speakers (and back) a lot.

Are you sure you don't have to just restart playback (stop/play)?

I'm positive. I'm actually a musician and use the EMU 1212m sound card along with the Microsoft Life Chat USB headphones (with Skype and sometimes music). So sometimes I go back and forth.

I should have previous stated I am using the beta 4.0.0.1355 version on Windows 7 64 bit.

Same here. Changing devices via plugin configuration for WASAPI and waveOut requires to restart MM. DirectSound makes changes without restart.

SoundSolution is working. But there's still problem with DirectSound for me... it's makes changes without restart application, but after restart it's not remember the changes....
