Hi,
just tried syncing with my Creative Zen Micro. ("Plays for Sure" Firmware)
MM correctly recognizes the Player and i can use MM to browse the players library.
if i sync something MM behaves normal and shows the progressbar for the syncing thread. there is a problem however: MM creates the directories it should (according to the mask) but it doesn't copy the files. also, the m3u playlist was not copied.
maybe there is somekind of access restriction. i tried this several times and it never worked, but it did using windows explorer.
several other things i noticed regarding MTP devices:
* the browse button for the "Copy M3U Playlists" checkbox in the syncing dialog is a bit useless, since you can't select the MTP device in the browse folder dialog. so you'll have to type the path manually anyways.
* the context menu for MTP devices in the treeview is too long. it shows options that really don't make sense in that context.
* an unmount button for the mtp device would be nice somewhere.
thx for the new version!
best regards

I am currently testing it out on my Dell Pocket DJ running the latest MTP firmware. So far no luck doing much. The only thing it does is recognize whats on the player, and it shows me it in folder format which is great
I attempted to transfer over a few tracks at once. I first deleted a few songs from the player before transfering over the new set using MM, just incase if any errors come up. I noticed that no matter what setting I choose for Synchronize tracks to none of the songs were transfering over. So I just entered a weird directory of where to put the songs, the folder got created, however inside there were no songs. I listened to the hard drive to see if it was in fact working and it does process, but only if the folder doesn't exist, none of the tracks get transfered over. No tracks on my player are DRM enabled. They are all MP3 files using various encoding techniques (CBR and VBR).
I attempted to edit an ID3 tag on a song and it does not change on the player, nor does the hard drive even process.
I attempted to play a song using the Play Now, and the Play Next options and the song refused to play. Nothing was getting transfered over.
It doesn't recognize the playlists on the player. I think you might be using the way Windows Media Player 10 recognizes it and thats why its not showing up. Real Player 10.5 and Musicmatch 10 show the playlists on my player correctly, perhaps you might want to take a look and see if you can make MM work the same way.
As for starting up MM, I ran into an access violation error, it took me a while to figure out that I had to hit cancel, I was clicking on Ignore all the time, but cancel seems to work. I am running the debug as of posting, haven't tried clicking cancel on the other beta release.
I clicked on the Portable Device icon and it instantly found my player which was really great!
As the Dell Pocket DJ is a Creative family player its prob best to get it working with a Creative Zen Micro first as you might have access to that player easier than a Dell. If you want to ask me any questions on the player feel free to PM or e-mail me....
Otherwise, its getting there with MTP support, hope these fixes get tuned up as I would really like to see MM get MTP support.

I started thinking about my Rio Karma problem, and then realized something. The playforsure driver is windows. So I rebooted my machine first. Then I launched mediamonkey. Then I configured the plugin. Then I connected my Karma. And voila!!! I am now able to upload music from MM to my Karma.
This has made my day. Good work guys.

2.5 Alpha 1 doesn't work with my Creative Nomad Jukebox 3. It recognizes the player but MM freezes and shows "not responding' when MM tries to read the files on the player. Also when MM is active, none of the other programs I use with the player (Notmad Explorer, NomadSync, Nomad Explorer) can access the jukebox. There is also a problem when exiting MM if it has added the Jukebox to the tree on the left side. MM won't close and I get a dialog box that says MM is unable to close because background tasks are running.jiri wrote:Ok, it seems there's some problem with uploading tracks to some types of devices. We hope to test and resolve this soon.
Thanks for the reports,
Jiri
It would be nice to have the option to disable detection of the player in MM as I usually play music on the computer while transferring files to the player using a third party program.

One more thing. In the synchronization options tab, where the box states Synchronize Tracks To:, I deleted the default setting and left it blank. Doing this seemed to work for my Karma.
I've managed to get some success with my Zen Micro (firmware 1.11.01). I rebooted and cleared the Synchronize Tracks To: option.
I get some tracks transferred. The tracks that are missing would not go even when selected on their own.
I don't get the playlists but they do show up as tracks under Artists <Unknown> <Unknown> as .m3u files.
Changing the Synchronize Tracks To: option does not stop the syncing of some of the files.
I also got duplicate tracks after syncing a few times.
Eventually the missing tracks did go, but i'm not sure why.
List of files seems to work just fine and it detects as soon as I connect.
Not sure if I should be able to edit tags via the portable device tree, but it only changes in MM.
Thanks for for the new version. MM is the best.
