MM freezes along with computer

Please help me.

I am running 64 bit Win 7. MM3 is installed in the default location. MM4 is installed in Programs (86)\MediaMonkey4. I have been using both versions for weeks without a problem. Last night both versions began freezing at "Play". Neither MM nor the computer will respond until MM is closed via Task Manager. I use the directsound output plugin in MM3 and Wasapi output in MM4. After closing MM, the computer becomes responsive. Audio output with other apps works fine.

Should I reinstall each version without uninstalling or should I uninstall each version before hand? Or maybe I should do something else entirely.

EDIT: Solved! The problem happened after running Mydefrag last night. A fragment must have been misplaced. The Windows Check Disk utility got everything right again. Goodbye Mydefrag.
