Dell DJ Synching

Post by Balinsky »

Using alpha 3 I had synced several playlists and albums to my dj.

After upgrading to alpha 4 I formated my player and went to sync again to MM. Note: this may have happened if I had tried to sync before updating, but I didn't try so I dont know.

Anyways, I changed what I wanted to sync, clicked the button. MM said it was preparing the list of tracks. And then MM crashed. With nothing syncing to the device.

This seems to be the abnormal debug code:

Code: Select all

If this is not I saved the log and I will email it if you want it

Edit:

While typing this up I got an idea, I deselected everything to sync to the player. Then I synced it and proceded to reselect what I wanted.

Now it works again. weird.

Crash on Sync

Post by rusty »

Balinsky,

Did the crash also occur with the standard (non-debug) build?

Alpha 5 update:

Wow MM is now probably the best program to use to sync to the DJ.

Now working in alpha 5(wasn't working prevously):
-can see playlists on device and delete them :D
-auto conversion works

Still doesn't work/could be better:
-cannot play tracks of the player
-cannot import playlists made on the player into MM
-MM insists on making playlists for every album and artist even with the option to do so turned off

I will send the MTP device log mentioned in the other thread to support@mediamonkey.com

I'll update this if if I find anything else out

Sometimes slow, sometimes fast...

Post by Grantium »

Works great with my 1st gen Dell DJ, thankfully. I almost had to use MusicMatch, and I am *very* glad I didn't have to.

MediaMonkey syncing is kind of hit and miss with the DJ though - sometimes its usb 2.0 fast, sometimes its paint-drying slow. Anything I can do to help track this?
