I don't usually play around with alpha software, but since I'm such a big Monkey fan, I thought I would try out the new version, and so far, things seem pretty solid. There's a lot that I don't use [no portables or anything like that] but I ripped a couple CDs and I've got a report.
ALBUM ARTIST is still being written to FLAC files as ENSEMBLE. I reported this once before on the forums. It would make life a whole lot easier if this were fixed by writing the tag as ALBUM ARTIST and having the database read it that way. Then I could have one set of tags regardless of what player I was using at the time.
I just ripped a CD where I wanted the ALBUM ARTIST to be Beethoven and the ARTIST to be the Hungarian Philharmonic. Ripped to FLAC, and the files were fine, but in the tree, I had entries for both Beethoven (which had the album branch under it) AND the Hungarian Philharmonic, which didn't. Removing either artist from the tree removed them both.
Other than that, no problems yet that I can find. No crashes, hangs or other wierdness at all.
Love the brushed skin.
