Sorting Tracks

Post by SWSamper »

Hi Guys,
Newbie here. I just bought gold and started to put my cd's into MM. I started with Christmas. I manually put Christmas in the genre. Introduced my cd. I know have my tracks in Christmas, Classical, Soul. How do I place my Christmas music just in Christmas and not my other categories. I am not a computer guy and will have many questions getting my collection in order. I appreciate any help in getting started. Thanks to All. Eventually this will be awesome.

You could use Collections to exclude Christmas by setting rule Genre not equal to christmas.

One of the things I love about MM is you can view by location. Then you can place your music in folders the way you would want to browse them. Under music you would have main then several oddity folders you would only want to pay at special times. The rest of your genres you would have inside main. You could have sub genres inside the genres then artist in side the genres/sub genres and albums inside the artists. You can use the all view to see all your tunes together at any level. You don't have to be a computer guy to do that. If Xmas is your only problem you don't need to do this. You cna move things around and rescan if you change your mind.
