MM Starts With Last Song Played
I am a happy user of MM 4.0.3 on Windows 7.
When MM opens, the player (on the bottom) always shows the last song played. The only way to get rid of that song is to select another song to play, and then that song stays in the player until I choose another song...
I can't figure out how to get the player to show no song at all. Is there a way?

The only way I know is to right-click in the now playing area > List > Clear, then restart MM.

Thank you ... that works.
But it's crazy that there's no way to clear the media player without re-starting MediaMonkey.

I don't really see why that's a necessary function.DataDonkey wrote:Thank you ... that works.

Is it "necessary" - no. However, what is the purpose for having the last song cued up forever? It is intuitive that once a song or a playlist is done, the player is cleared. At least, this is what we have come to expect since this is the behavior of Windows Media Player, VLC, QuickTime, Winamp, XMPlay ... but not MediaMonkey.

That's an old gripe.

If it's such an old gripe, I wish it would get addressed.
That said, it's only a small complaint in an otherwise excellent piece of work.

As it doesn't negatively impact MediaMonkey's performance perhaps they have chosen to tackle more important requests.

Re: MM Starts With Last Song Played
I think it's more useful to have the last track played displayed there so that if you were to hit the "Play" button on the player, something would play. As opposed to clearing the player, so none of the buttons have any function.DataDonkey wrote:Is it "necessary" - no. However, what is the purpose for having the last song cued up forever? I'd expect nothing* to play if the Now Playing was cleared and that nothing would be shown in the Player as nothing is loaded in the Now Playing.nohitter151 wrote:I think it's more useful to have the last track played displayed there so that if you were to hit the "Play" button on the player, something would play. * Unless Auto-DJ is enable where it would play what ever Auto-DJ provides as next file.

I don't want to cause trouble over a minor issue, but isn't it obvious that if nothing is in the player, none of the buttons have any function? I think by now most users realize that hitting "Play" without first selecting a track is not going to bring forth music.nohitter151 wrote:I think it's more useful to have the last track played displayed there so that if you were to hit the "Play" button on the player, something would play. But that's the whole point. Why even have a situation where the player is blank and serves no purpose? Isn't it better to always have a track ready to play?DataDonkey wrote:I don't want to cause trouble over a minor issue, but isn't it obvious that if nothing is in the player, none of the buttons have any function?
