album artist question (and my summary of MM vs helium)

Post by nm007 »

whenever I enter artist, album artist is also populated.

I hate that. (because almost all of my albums have many artists and if album artists are different, the albums are listed as different and the scan does not pick up the album art) So how can I disable this automatic filling in of album artist?

p.s. I think I have decided to go from helium to MM.
winning points
1. edit the nodes and the files get edited. (This is is worth its weight in gold!)
wish magic nodes had that capability :(
2. player can be controlled in system tray.
Needs hotkeys for better control
3. tag from filename has composer as available field
Needs to have lyricist, better yet configurable
4. picks up album art from the track directory
(has too many restrictions :( again should be configurable)

The main panel HAS to be configurable (or has to have at least composer and lyricist on it). Thats my biggest peeve

heliums good points
1. Cleaner look
2. main panel columns are completely configurable
3. creation of filename is completely configurable

thats the same functionality I am talking about, however, MM has a fixed set of tags that can be used for rename, while helium allows any tag.

So nobody has a suggestion for album artist? :(

I think that it is useful that it assumes your Album Artist is your artist. It is very quick and simple to edit the Album Artist tag if this is not the case.
