Converting files; 'Error lame_enc.dll can't be uploaded'

Post by Boywonder1 »

Anyone know what to do? I've copied the latest lame_enc.dll version, removing the old one.

When I start the process of converting a file to mp3, the bottom bar shows for a split second and then the above error appears; 'Error lame_enc.dll can't be uploaded'.

Revert to the older encoder I guess.

I don't have MediaMonkey Gold. The reason I did this was to convert files to mp3, is that not possible with the LAME dll?

You should be able to replace lame (the free version only has 30 days of MP3 encoding), you may have downloaded a corrupt or incorrect version.

I am having this problem, too. I've tried downloading lame_enc.dll from several different sites (sourceforge, rarewares, etc) and always get the same result after moving it to the MM folder. Is it possible there's a compatibility problem with the latest version?

Aha! The problem was that I was trying to use the 64 bit version. Once I switched to 32 bit, it worked. In case anyone else runs into this...

I had the same problem. For me, this issue turned out to be that I was using LAME v3.99, but MM apparently requires LAME v3.98. Once I switched from 3.99 to 3.98, all was well.
