I have MediaMonkey working on GoogleTV, but... [#10740]

Post by kriswithak »

I own a TV with a GoogleTV device. I have been able to get MediaMonkey for Android installed (side loaded apk) on it, and can access the app just fine.

Specifically, I own the Logitech Revue. This is wonderful news, because the Revue is probably the least-compatible of all GoogleTV devices when it comes to apps. Many apps (like XMBC) just aren't compatible. But MediaMonkey is, which suggest it should be compatible with just about any GTV device!

However, there is one fatal flaw that prevents it from performing at 100%:
When you attempt to set up UPnP or Syncs, a warning pops up stating that a "Wifi Connection could not be found", and this prevents you from progressing further. I have my Revue wired ethernet, GigabitE, so that I can stream 1080p from Plex without buffer issues.

How hard would it be to review this warning? Perhaps the if-condition could be merely updated to include a wired connection...

I realize I could just swap my wired connection for a wireless one when I want to use mediamonkey - but I currently have 3 or 4 apps already on it that can use the ethernet connection, they even pick up my MediaMonkey UPnP server from my desktop! However, I'm absolutely in love with MediaMonkey for Android [great job guys!!!], and if there were any way I might be able to use it the same way on my Revue, I would be ecstatic. It seems like it might be a very minor fix in the source! I also understand this request is probably very niche. If you guys have time for it, as a coder myself, I bet it might only be 1-2 lines of code!
