Start-Up & Defaults

Post by gkm »

Hello, i am a total novice at this and need some help....

I played around with the settings and am now worried that i've changed something for the worse.

Is it normal that every time i start up MM it analyses the volume of all the tracks in my library? i have like 7000 songs and this takes forever......is it going to do this when i plug my ipod in as well??

What does the box of options "Target Volume Levels" actually mean?

Apparently levelling tack volume changes the volume for ever....so i am scared to go anywhere near these options.....

why would i want to anaylise the volume every time i start up MM??

Please help :)

You make your choice under Tools ->Options-> Volume leveling -> General. I crossed the first box only. So normally MM is analyzing only the tracks with unknown volume. Once done it will not analyze them again. Only new tracks with unknown level. Just Analyzing the volume-level doesn't change anything of the tracks, it's only adding this information to the tags.
