[SOLVED] Delete files doesn't remove from ext sd card

I have only tested with an ext sd card, but when I have tracks on the card and delete them from MMA they do not get erased from the card. It appears that MMA is deleting the metadata from the database as it does not get listed anymore, however they are still on the card as verified via 2 different android file viewers and windows when connected to usb. I also notice that the dates on the files don't seem correct, but I'm not sure what would cause that or if it's related. As a result, MMW does not download the track when syncing, it simply locates the deleted track and seems to add the metadata back into the database.

In any case, debug log submitted but did not catch the ID.

Hi,

I just tested this out by manually deleting an album/track and verifying status using ESExplorer (in build 145), and can't replicate--tracks are deleted as expected.

Can you test with the latest build and see if the problem still occurs for you? If yes, please tell me what node/view you're deleting the track(s) from.

Will do. Only hang up will be getting the files back on the device since wifi sync broke for 145. I'll post test results this evening when I get a chance.

Are you sure that files are not locked in ES File explorer as if They are locked MMA can't delete them. It happened to me today, but as soon as track was released from exclusive access MMA deleted it without issue.

I'm not sure how they would have been locked since I don't know how to manually lock them. Perhapse having ES F,ILE Explorer running and that file selected? I'll see if killing ES helps.

With 145 I do not see any issues with deleting.

I deleted a file via MMA with ES File Explorer closed - success
I deleted a file via MMA with ES File Explorer open and in a different directory - success
I deleted a file via MMA with ES File Explorer open and the file selected - success
I played a file in Play, stopped playing but kept Play open, deleted file via MMA with ES File Explorer still selecting that file - success

Whatever the problem was in 142 (be it my device specific or a bug in MMA) seems to have been resolved.
