Hi
I am using MM 4.1 and an iPod Touch 4G. All has been fine but a few days ago some odd things started happening when synced. If I add 5 new tracks to MM, they are synced to the iPod no problem here. However, the next time I sync these 5 tracks are highlighted by MM as data to be synced from the iPod to MM. If I allow this to happen any ratings applied to these tracks shown in MM is erased even though the tracks remain rated on the iPod. A further problem is that playlists synced from MM to the iPod do not show on the iPod (but are visible under the iPod node). These synced fine until a few days ago.
Assuming that the iPod data was corrupted I reset the iPod and resynced all 2000 tracks. The problem remained. I reset the iPod again and let it sync first with iTunes (synced correctly) and then synced with MM. Problem resolved - playlists now visible, sync behaviour normal. That was yesterday. Today the problem has returned. Playlists are visible, but new tracks added yesterday are now offered to be synced back from the iPod to MM.
In earlier versions of MM there was a setting that allowed syncing back from device to be turned off. I can't seem to find this in the latest version. While I could put up with the annoyance of the sync back dialog interrupting sync what will happen is that as new tracks get added the sync back list will get longer and longer. Just after the problem started I tidied up genre tags and ended up with 596 tracks in the sync back list. As syncing back seems to erase some tags in MM I have to make sure on every sync that none of the sync back tracks are checked. Usually they are not, sometimes they are. Sometimes all are checked, sometimes only some are checked.
I used my wife's iPod Touch 5G, setting it up as a new iPod, and this behaviour is not present, it only happens with the 4G.
I am tempted to conclude that the 4G iPod is screwed but how I do not know. Anybody else having this problem?

If you can reproduce this behavior you should capture it in a debug log (step 4b) and send it the log to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=12&t=69
