Actually MediaMonkey might get a new mode in a next release that would work better on a media center PC.

I don't think so. I think they are planning to create there own interface over the MediaMonkey application.

Here is a better explenation

Windows Media Center is the next big thing in entertainment and the one thing it is lacking is a full feature music manager (like MediaMonkey) and i think if Media Monkey was to create a application that was assceble through Media Center that would manage, organise, edit, add ETC music within Media Center alot of people would use the appplication due to the lack of MP3 compatability within Media Center if this was to become a reality i dont mind Beta Testing this applicaiton as many people are very fussy on touching the media center. If this is a good opinion i think you should post your thoughts here and lets try to get the developers behind us.

Why don't you use the normal program with computer mouse, to manage/organise/edit/... your library?
I thought MCE was about playing&recording things, not editing things. Do you (normally) use a mouse with Media Center? If not, then editing may be slow, and certainly very annoying for other viewers.
On a computer (program), you're mostly alone. On a Media Center screen, you mostly look with more than one person (I think).

Anyway, if MediaMonkeyMC supports editing, it'll probably be very basic, so you'll need the real computer interface anyway.

As you can see, I'm not very knowledgable about this subject. But I would like to be.
I have done a very very little bit research on Windows MC add-ons, but they don't seem to helpful. Probably I just didn't look right. Maybe this is the reason why a lot of programs create their own interface, and don't use an add-on (which seem to be very limited in capabilities).
By creating an own interface, more advanced things can be done, using the normal database, function calls, ... .
Extensions: ExternalTools, ExtractFields, SongPreviewer, LinkedTracks, CleanImport, and some other scripts (Need Help with Addons > List of All Scripts).

What about a MCE mode in MediaMonkey. I believe that might be in the future. I certainly would like that as I don't use MCE but Meedio (now Yahoo something thing).
But yeah, if you use MCE in TV mode editing will be rather cumbersome, if you use it in desktop mode (work/browse etc like a normal PC) editing would work, but why not edit in MediaMonkey and update the MCE WMP database afterwards.

I agree; I would LOVE a MediaMonkey plugin for MCE that would take the place of the horribly slow "My Music" feature of MCE... I like everything about MCE except for My Music... It bogs down to a slow crawl if you try to have > a couple hundred music files, which is exactly one of the areas where MM has been proven to excel. Plus, I'd like to use the volume leveling function of MM's player as well. I've heard that MCE uses some sort of html/xml rendering engine for plugins, so I'm hoping it wouldn't be too hard to do. Plus, it would really be a kick in the pants to show Microsoft that a plugin can handle more files and !file formats and tags! than their own program can...

I'd love the plug-in, or application that WMC would recognize and, since my WMC computer isn't my primary machine, I'd also be very interested in being a Beta tester.

Yeah, Meedio is real slow in the music part too and of course the volume level value is ignored.

Remote control might be possible already. I use the ATI remote wonder which works well with MediaMonkey. Check if the MCE remote supports WinAmp or has a WinAmp plugin available, if so you should be able to get it to work with MediaMonkey.
