Incorrect artist from FLAC when artist tag is present

Post by pianissimo84 »

I just installed V. 2.5.2.951 on WINXP

It scanned my folders of FLAC files. Most of my classical music has no artist tag, I use COMPOSER, CONDUCTOR, ORCHESTRA instead (works great on my Slimserver). For some reason, MM doesn't like this and reads part of the title into the artist tag. Here's an example, the following is the text version of the FLAC tag information. According to MM, the artist is I. Adagio

MM is not going to very useful for me if it can't manage the tag information for my classical music. I can see the COMPOSER tag displayed but that's all. Any suggestions?

I think that 'I. Adagio' in title is caused by the fact that MM expects title to be filled in, and in case it isn't, it is gussed from filename. You can however disable this in Options.

As for better classical music support in general, check out some other threads here, more is planned for the next version.

That disabling Jiri mentioned can be done by deselecting infer track properties in the menu Tools > Options and then the Library node in the options window.
