Tag edit while synching

I want to edit id3 tags on the fly while syncing music. My use case is such, on my desktop I have MM set up with a three screen split showing album artists, albums, year.

However, I sync music to an iPod and I want discographies to show up in the correct order. For this, I want the album order edited to <year> <album> while syncing. However, only on the portable player, not in the main library.

Does anyone if this is possible directly via MediaMonkey or by using a plugin or script?
