Talk:Moving MM to a new computer

Great article. It might be wise to make a note somewhere to disable any startup scan options if the user decides to move the MM installation and mediamonkey.ini files. A startup scan run before updating the device id's will add a bunch of dupes. But I am not sure where would be the best spot to mention it.--Teknojnky 14:59, 19 April 2008 (EDT)

Script still works, just performed in Win7. Fantastic script, saved me an awful lot of work. Thanks a lot!! Lapwing 20100818

Beware! The script.ini doesn't work if you copy it from the code box UNLESS you remove the trailing spaces at the end of each line. Thanks to Kumo for figuring this out! -- cnbehler on December 15 2011

I performed a move from a previously (crashed) laptop to a new one and the script worked perfectly. My new database was on a slightly different place though, not in C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Mediamonkey but in C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Mediamonkey. -- mimtje on Februari 15 2012

At least on my Windows 7 computer (64-bit), this line which refers to the location of the database is wrong:

Windows Vista / Windows 7: C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Mediamonkey\MM.DB

should read:

Windows Vista / Windows 7: C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Mediamonkey\MM.DB

---if others confirm the same thing, perhaps the instructions should be corrected.
