It might be confusing as people would expect that MM looks up the selected tracks instead of the inserted CD. Another problem would be when people have multiple CD drives with audio CD's inserted.

I also noticed that the freedb menu item was greyed out... I was able to query freedb using the tree, but IMO whenever there's a CD in a drive the menu item should be available.

It only works if you have the CD node visible (I believe).

Under TOOLS there is an option to "get album info from freedb". This option is disabled.
I know the CD is cataloged there, because I have another program that retrieves it.

Are you watching the CD node (either in My Computer or the Location node)?

Why would the option to perform be unavailable (grayed) ?

You might want to go to http://www.freedb.org and look for a server closer by your location.

This will be easier in MM 2.3 currently in beta testing.

I am trying to get the info from a CD, not from the tracks on HD.

FreeDB is only searched for CD's. For tracks already on your PC you can use the album browser. The new MM 2.3 currently in beta will allow you to save the album browser results to the track.

Need help seeting up the FreeDB access. MM is already setup to automatically search the FreeDB, but it doesn't and the option to manually search is grayed. What I am missing ?
