FreeDB is only searched for CD's. For tracks already on your PC you can use the album browser. The new MM 2.3 currently in beta will allow you to save the album browser results to the track.

You might want to go to http://www.freedb.org and look for a server closer by your location.

It only works if you have the CD node visible (I believe).

It might be confusing as people would expect that MM looks up the selected tracks instead of the inserted CD. Another problem would be when people have multiple CD drives with audio CD's inserted.
