So Adobe Lightroom - I just pointed it at the new top directory using the function "update folder location" on the new server "photos" and it linked everyone of the 400,000 photos and moved the edits/changes held in the library to the photo in its new location.
Regarding MM5
None of the files/titles are missing as they exist in the new NAS (not scanned yet) and the old NAS, so it will not identify them in the moved/ Missing flies of the database.
From what you are saying - I have clear the database and re scan the whole 100000 music files back into the library as the functionally is not in MM5 to do this type of change (change the NAS location for the data), from this change I will lose 1) Manual playlists and 2) other data that is dependent on the file location such as auto play lists -dependent on location for its data via Filter (these are the only instances I can think of that will unavalible to the new NAS location.
I have been testing if MM4 if it had this functionality but it does not appear so.
I would suggest that this functionality is added to MM5 with the growth of NAS for end users, a migration path of updating is necessary.
