As with so many things in MM5, it is easy, but very much not apparent or obvious.
After you have opened your playlist in the main window, you can just start typing your search term without first entering a search box at all - as you type, a new search box opens next to your tab, and you can keep typing or edit it there.
Similar to windows start dialog, new fashion I guess, you just start typing and it somehow decides you are trying to search. Blank interface,
Might be more apparent to the old fashioned like me if there was at least a magnifying glass to click on next to the current tab to cause the box to appear, .
