JUst FYI, I installed the 2689 build today, and it seems to be working just fine so far. :D

Did not notice any error messages yet at all after several hours

So, after some back and forth on the ticket, it seems for me the only recent version that works well is still 2670.

As above 2675 was most broken, then there were a number of fixes in 2682 which improved it again, and now 2684 is just as bad as 2675. The issue is clearly not easy to identify, as much effort has been made.

I am told there are not any changes which should affect my issue in these recent versions, but it is what it is.

Anyone having available or using chromecast who could chime in here and report their experiences might be helpful.

And fyi, I was completely mistaken--the 'bug' that I found with .m4a files was due to a test error.

I couldn't replicate any new chromecast issues with 2684.

I am not aware of any change related to casting since 2682 with exception to the firewall related issues which shouldn't affect existing installations though.

So could you please generate debug log (using DbgView) for me and attach to eSupport ticket for analyze ?

Ideally if you could generate two logs:
1) Working casting with 2682
2) Non-working casting (on the same testing tracks) with 2684
BTW: You indicated that you tested with 2686, but this is internal build only so I guess it was rather a typo?

I'm pretty sure these were mp3 files, as I have only very few m4a and don't recall hearing one of those.

ps Went back to 2682, and all is well again!!

Oooops, I fear this is busted again

I was just playing a bunch of tracks in 2684 to chromecast, which I had not yet done since this latest RC, and the cannot decode messages and the gaps and the restart tracks are all happening again. :(

Can you please check that whatever was fixed in 2682 gets into the next RC and final release,,,,

[/quote] You can still do that and workaround is to Use multi zone and also select internal player (Muted)

Just loaded 2682, and started playing some tracks by chromecast to my soundbar

So far about 10 tracks have played with no error messages, restarts, or any other issues :D

I'll give it another good long test run tomorrow
