hi Lowlander, thanx for reacting.
1) Indeed it doesn't switch to a different folder, however it still resets the filter. Preferably it stays on the selected filter instead of resetting it. If I wanted a different selection, I'd change it myself. For me it seems to be a bug, but I could be mistaken.
2) I'm on build 5.0.4.2690. It does for every view. In the player overview as well as in the playlist overview. I have them both open by default. I noticed this behaviour in version 4 at times as well. I can't replicate atm, I just happens now and then. It also stops showing the right click menu. I havent tried in the tree view tho.
3) The ability to switch it off entirely would be a nice bonus
4) Exactly that. I do not get results after space. E.g I use "Progressive" and "Progressive (V)". When I add a space to Progressive, the genre Progressive (V) is not shown. I just checked, it happens both in-line and in properties. The workaroudn I use now is removing a character. So when I delete the e from Progressive, the Progressive (V) appears. It seems not to pick up on the space.
