Hi!
Not sure if it's expected behaviour, for me it's fairly anoying, hope I make sense...
When I have the player overview with the column filters and drag a file into a paylist or different folder, the column filter resets. It seems to switch over to the folder or list I dragged the file into. I do a lot of classification and all my tracks are stored in one folder (without sub folders) for convenient filtering, hence I work with fairly long listings. When the filter resets I have to track back to were I was.
Also noticed the drag and drop fucntion quitting at times. When I restart the application, drag and drop is back.
Last thing; at times when I tick one of the tag fields to edit the information, it takes a moment to open. At times it doesnt. When I start typing it does open an auto search at the top. That also results in resetting the filters. Is it possible to switch that off?
One last request, in version 4 spaces in e.g. genre or album tags were included in the predictions. Seems not to be in version 5.
Hope this can be done in settings that I may have missed. Did an extensive search in the options, but didnt see anything that seemed useful for these settings.

Re: Filter resets when dragging a file / auto global search
1) I don't see it move to a different selection, however the chosen column filters are reset, likely to account for the changes made in the list of files.
2) Which Build (Help > About) and does D&D stop working for every View?
3) No, but you can set Contextual search to Scrolls to match.
4) How are spaces not included for you? Are you saying that matches with spaces are not shown? ie. typing rock fails to show rock & roll? Is this purely during in-line editing or in the Properties too?

Re: Filter resets when dragging a file / auto global search
hi Lowlander, thanx for reacting.
1) Indeed it doesn't switch to a different folder, however it still resets the filter. Preferably it stays on the selected filter instead of resetting it. If I wanted a different selection, I'd change it myself. For me it seems to be a bug, but I could be mistaken.
2) I'm on build 5.0.4.2690. It does for every view. In the player overview as well as in the playlist overview. I have them both open by default. I noticed this behaviour in version 4 at times as well. I can't replicate atm, I just happens now and then. It also stops showing the right click menu. I havent tried in the tree view tho.
3) The ability to switch it off entirely would be a nice bonus
4) Exactly that. I do not get results after space. E.g I use "Progressive" and "Progressive (V)". When I add a space to Progressive, the genre Progressive (V) is not shown. I just checked, it happens both in-line and in properties. The workaroudn I use now is removing a character. So when I delete the e from Progressive, the Progressive (V) appears. It seems not to pick up on the space.

Re: Filter resets when dragging a file / auto global search [#19860 #17058]
I should elaborate on 4. I already had Progressive added as Genre, so that shows in the line for the track. When I try to edit it into Progressive (V) I just add a space to Progressive. In that case the Progressive (V) does not show up. That did work in version 4.
So when the field is blank and I start typing Progressive, it does show both, when Progressive is already added and I add a space in in-line editing, the Progressive (V) does not show. When I type space+( it appears.

Brill! Hope it adds to the overal functionality for everyone. Gotta say, the support for Media Monkey is absolutely rock solid! Made me stick to Media Monkey for well over a decade now.
I'll try to figure out how the D&D issue is triggered. Currently I have no idea what causes it, and I havent seen it happening for a while now.
Thanx for logging the issues I mentioned and for your continued support!

I tried to fix this, but I am unable to replicate the issue (details in Mantis).Lowlander wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2023 2:00 pm 4) That is a very important detail, reproduced and added as: https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=19862
The only way how I can replicate this is when I edit tracks that are not part of MediaMonkey library, in that case the genre isn't written into database (just to file tag) and isn't available in the auto-complete at all. Can you confirm that this is the case?
Re: Filter resets when dragging a file / auto global search [#19860 #19862 #17058]
OK, LowLander already explained how to replicate: https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view ... 862#c71297
Will be fixed in the next version.
