Re: Updating Media Monkey
Hi, May I ask what is the proper way to install an upgrade version of MM4 portable? I'd like not to have to mess with re-adding the various plugins, etc., that would be necessary in a clean install. I'm hesitant to overwrite my current installation, even if I backup my .ini and db folders -- will I ...

Re: Conversion issues for sync
Thanks, yes, that was what I did... auto synced them originally, butthe debug version thinks they're different files, not part of the same playlist I'm trying to sync ( but they are ) .

Re: Conversion issues for sync
Regarding using the debug version: I installed it to a separate directory on my external drive (my MM4 normal version is portable, too). I made copies of MM.DB and MediaMonkey.ini and stuck them in the same place. Then ran the debug version. I started the sync process, but when it analyzed the iPod,...

Re: Conversion issues for sync
Hi Lowlander, thanks for your help.
It's definitely not DRM -- I'm quite sure about that (some are recordings by friends).
Also, doing a manual conversion is no problem. So strange.

Conversion issues for sync
Hi, just upgraded to MM4, and am having problems with some files which can not be converted during ipod synchronization. I get the following message: File ____ cannot be decoded. It is possibly due to DRM restrictions. These are files that previously caused no problem, although I recreated my conver...

Re: MM freezing during sync - Ipod Classic 160
OK, I think that upgrading to MM4 and using the Codec Pack has solved my problem. I'm 3000 files through an 8000 file sync, with no problems so far...
Edit: confirmed, upgrading to MM4 has worked for me. Successfully synced the same 8000 files to the new iPod.

Hmmm. I'm having trouble accomplishing a full sync at all, even if I delete all the files an re-load.

Re: Trouble syncing ipod classic
Is it, by chance, an ipod classic 160? It seems like there are problems with MM and ipod classic 160GB. I just bought one and am scouring the forums for a solution. No joy so far.. I'm also having the problem you describe: I try to sync, encounter an error, re-sync, and each time I get an additional...

Re: MM freezing during sync - Ipod Classic 160
EDIT: upgraded to portable MM4 and am now going to try syncing it... I just bought an Ipod Classic 160 GB when my old 80 GB classic finally died. The 80 GB classic worked like a champ with Media Monkey, and I have been an evangelist for ages. But now I can't load my music to the ipod -- MM 3.2.1.129...

Re: AAC/M4A Encoder / Decoder Plug-in : Quality and reliabil
Hi, After reading this, I still have a question about transcoding from M4A. I have files that were ripped as M4A variable bit rate (I thought they were ripped as lossless, but wouldn't they have been alac then?). I want to transcode them to FLAC with 0 compression. Is there a limitation on the AAC /...

Hi,
Just wondering -- is Monkey Server still under active development? Does it work? Are there other options for a media server that works to access media monkey remotely?
Has anyone tried this option: http://tipsfor.us/2009/03/20/share-and- ... diamonkey/
Thanks.

Re: Server setup?
OK, so how about going one further... I likewise have old computers and storage. Is there any way I could set them up as an internet file-server that would appear as a "drive" on any computer that hooked up? That is, is it possible to set them up to be my own home-made replacement for Dropbox, so th...

Re: Ipod Touch Scrobbling
I don't have itunes installed on my computer, so I don't think I can use iScrob, since it requires accessing the app store. Would it be possible for a developer to develop an ipod scrobbler plugin for MediaMonkey, so that MM would access the recently played tunes on your device prior to any sync ope...

Re: android
I'm planning on buying an android tablet. I manage all my music with MM and I love it. I'd really love to have a MediaMonkey app on the tablet itself -- a player that would include most of MM's features, would play nicely with the desktop, sync via wifi, etc.
Thanks.
Thanks.
