2276 - library stats calculation error?

Post by Barry4679 »

Is this possible?
I have played more tracks per genre, than I actually have tracks per genre?

Maybe the "library" stat is calculated as average per tracks per genre, from just genres that actually have tracks?
And the "Played" stat is the average plays per genre, from all genres, regardless of whether they have any tracks?

I am not author of original script, but based on the sources, the difference is because of different base for average - Library column is average related to the number of all genres in library, but Played column is related to the number of genres, that were really played.

With me Artist, Album and Year are also over. I assume this happens when you've played your files a lot and multiple times per file as well for many files.

It won't be that. My play history shows that the average play count, calculated across all of my tracks, is a bit over seven times. So that would distort the stat way more than what I am seeing.

thanks for confirmation ... are you going to fix it?
At the moment it is bogus information ... ie two "comparison" columns, each of which work off different bases, so the info is misleading and meaningless.

I think that it should be fixed, otherwise that panel could be removed?

This explains why the reports are always so incorrect when audiobooks and movies are added to the database - all untrue data..

Thanks.
Your Mantis entry specifically mentions the genre line in the report.

I don't see it myself, but from what Lowlander reported, the problem may affect other lines in the same section of the report.

Yes, I fixed it also for albums and artists that were affected by the same bug.
