Cannot run MM after installation

When I install MM (3.0.2.1134) and try to run it I get error messages:

Invalid data type for 'DisplayName'

There was a problem querying the database:
Error executing SQL "Select Podcasts.* from Podcasts
" : no such table: Podcasts (1, 1)

and many more various SQL errors. When I go to %HOMEPATH%\Ustawienia lokalne\Dane aplikacji\MediaMonkey I don't see there any database file as described in the FAQ (C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application\DataMediaMonkeyMM.DB).

I tried with 3.0.1 before and got the same results, always with a clean install. I have Windows XP Professional (Polish version).

Try to delete/backup your DB and leave MM to create new one (with higher safety mode).

try going in to the folders for your songs.
right click on a song format that you have media monkey set to play. and play it with media monkey. see if it plays if it does it might fix the error. its worth a shot anyway's i think it is looking for a song in the playlist but there was nothing there yet. which is why it can't find table 1,1

i had that the first time i installed it too but did what i said and it worked. then i just scanned the computer to get the music in the library. and i have not got that error anymore.

I can't delete domething I don't have... There is no MM database on my hard drive, I searched for all files with .db extension.

Didn't help, still the same errors.

It looks like MM thinks it has successfully opened a database (what's obviously incorrect) and tries to execute queries on it...

okay try going to one of the songs in the monkeys tree for my computer. and play it that way.? if you can even get the monkey to open and let you near the tree?

you could also go to the location of where monkey stores his database. and make a text file. name it mediamonkey.mdb and see if that will kick it in to working?

Are you sure? The database is in a "hidden" folder so you'll have to enable viewing of hidden files and folders.

I can get MM to open but in the tree I don't see my drives, only My Documents. I tried copying one .mp3 file there but when I click on folder I get "access violation..." error. Apparently MM stores drives information in its db, as I also don't see my drives when adding files to the library but they are there when I run MM just after installation.

Didn't help. Where exactly do you have this db on your system?

I have enabled viewing both protected system files and hidden files so I can see everything unless it's a NTFS alternate data stream...

You're running on XP or Vista ?

On Vista check
<system drive>:\Users\%USER%\AppData\Local\MediaMonkey folder

On XP
<system drive>:\Documents & Settings\%USER%\Local Settings\Applications Data\MediaMonkey

Otherwise check if you're have enough rights for write to folders above.

On XP
<system drive>:\Documents & Settings\%USER%\Local Settings\Applications Data\MediaMonkey

So I was looking in the right place...
I don't have any database files there, just MediaMonkey.ini, mediamonkey.m3u and two empty folders (Previews and VirtualCD).

okay try this location.

c:\program files\mediamonkey\data

see if that folder is there with the mdb in it.

i have an mdb in 3 different places on my win98 with mm 2.5

maybe you had one there too and mm 3 used that one.?

try to open MediaMonkey.ini file and find "DBName" variable. There should be path to the MM.DB file.

I don't have a "data" folder in MM install directory, also I have never used MM before - 3.0.1 was the first version I ever tried to install.

I added DBName=C:\MM.db under [System] (there was no DBName in this file) and still no changes
