please help an idiot

Hi, I've half filled my IHP 140 using WMP and manually dragging and dropping to different genre based folders I've created in "my music". I would like to synchronise this way using MM. Unfortnately MM's genre groupings are often completely different to my own i.e something I would want to be in hip hop MM places in R&B). Can any body help? Apologies if this has already been covered I've checked over the boards but am none the wiser!

MM doesn't put songs in genre's by itself.

MM just reads what has been saved before in the tags.

You can change the genre for a song in the properties window of a song. You can type any custom genre or select one of the available ones.

So it seems that you first need to organize your tracks into the correct genre's. You can do this by selecting multiple tracks and changing the genre collectively.
