MM has done this for me before automatically, but it doesn't always do it: How do I get it to download the song ratings from my player?
I didn't think it did that, then the other day I noticed the songs on my HD library were rated as I did on my player. I just synced it now, and it didn't download the ratings from my View.
Also, I cannot un-check auto-sync under the device at the top. Under the options auto-sync is off but I can't get it to not do it. I don't want it to transfer any songs unless I say so.

The auto-sync option under the device button works much like a radio button - you have to select "sync selected" to turn off "auto-sync".
But I can confirm the other problem - obviously my device ratings are being synchronized back just from time to time. I've selected "auto-sync" and deselected all audio-auto-sync options since I want to manually select a subset of my library for synchronization - but what I would expect is, that my device ratings are being synchronized back though.... which happens, but only sometimes...
