iRiver X20 - problem with track listings

Hi there - long time user, first time poster.

I'm using my wife's iRiver X20 8 gb [because I'm still mourning the death of my Creative Zen Vision M so the iRiver will do for a while]. All my music is ripped as FLAC files so I rely on MM to convert on the fly to any device I use [reminds me, must buy a Cowon one of these days].

I have a problem with syncing in that while the tracks load onto the X20, all the tracks and albums get listed as the first track and album I play after I turn on the unit. When I click through to the next track, the total number will change eg. 43 of 220, the album art will be correct, but the track and album will read for example, Michael Nyman when I'm playing The B52s.

Is there something I can play with in Options, Device Profile?

I recently upgraded to the latest MM version [3.1.0.1256] but this is incompatible with the latest iPod Touch (2nd gen) firmware/upgrade, which I had to pay for. I now won't be using my iPod Touch with MM.
