Converting from WMA to MP3

Post by mannymendez25 »

I have about 40GB of music in WMA format that I wish to convert to MP3. I believe Media Monkey Gold has a converter but before I make the purchase, I have a few questions.

1) will the converter also bring over the metadata/tags and the embedded album art?
2) will the output MP3 format be saved in the source folder?
3) will the file name format be copied over. for instance all my files are saved song_artist.wma. will the new file be saved as song_artist.mp3
4) is there an option to delete the source file once the conversion is completed or do i have to go back and delete all the wma's manually?
5) is the converter capable of converting several folder in one job? for instance I have 40GB of wma sorted by music\artist\album\songs can I just pick all my music to be converted and it will save the output in the corresponding folders or do I have to convert album by album?
6) is there an easy way to identify the WMA files in Media Monkey? I only want to convert the WMA files and would be time consuming to go into each album folder looking for WMA files to convert.

thanks in advance for any answers and advice.

Hi and welcome,

Yes to everything but as you'd have to select the files to begin with you'd have to press/click delete manually.
