Inconsistent Album Art Node
Hi:
This has been plaguing me for some time and I cannot figure out what triggers it but I am getting a little frustrated having to keep fix them..... In the Inconsistent Album Art node I will get several albums who show up and although they all have the same album art, they keep showing up. The only thing I do to fix this problem is select all the tracks and go to the Edit Album Art node, make sure the all selected tracks option is checked and save out. This seems to be happening on albums that I have not listened to in a while or made any tagging changes to. Does anyone have any ideas why these albums might show up with AA problems?? BTW, I also use Bex's Tagging Inconsistencies script and it doesn't recognize these albums as having problems.

Re: Inconsistent Album Art Node
Best way to see what's going on is to examine each of the tracks in the problematic album in the Properties > Album Art tab. Perhaps the tracks are in different folders, and a scan may be associating different secondary album art (that you wouldn't see unless you look in Properties > Album Art).

Re: Inconsistent Album Art Node
I do not use the option to scan album art and all my art is embedded in the files. And they all only use 1 pic for each album. Since I have only 1 copy per album it is unlikely there should be any discrepancies. Especially since I've fixed them all and have not changed the art on any of them. And when I look at the properties of all of them in the AA panel, they all have the same dimensions. How else can I tell if they are different??

Re: Inconsistent Album Art Node
I had an issue with albums showing up in this node that "shouldn't" have, and upon examining the Covers table in the database, it was due to some values being left in the table by Bex's Advanced Dup Find & Fix... or... something. I don't remember the exact details.
EDIT: Found my post about it: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 03#p202703 May be related, may not be.

Re: Inconsistent Album Art Node
I don't know because this database is only a couple of months old and as of a couple of weeks ago I had no discrepancies. And these albums are ones that I have not listened to or edited since before the rebuilt database. So, what happened in the last couple of weeks to cause them to be discrepancies?? But I'll re-read that post, I thought there was a sql statement to fix those ones.

Re: Inconsistent Album Art Node
Nyn,
maybe Cover Type or Description are different?
Or maybe one of the album tracks is missing album art completely and the others have album art?

Re: Inconsistent Album Art Node
I've noticed that sometimes MM leaves data in the Covers table which is redundant. E.g. for records having CoverStorage=1 (Embedded), the PictureType field is sometimes populated which shouldn't happen. The same goes for CoverStorage=0 (Linked), then sometimes the CoverPath field is populated which it should be. I disregard that info, for the two cases above, in my script but I think MM original node considers it. I believe that's the explanation to this behaviour?

Re: Inconsistent Album Art Node
MM doesn't check whether PictureType (IMG, JPG, PNG) is different, MM only checks differencies in following fields: CoverType (back/front), CoverStorage (tag/file), CoverDescription, CoverPath.
In my case albums under this node always have inconsistent one of these values or some tracks from the album are missing the cover and some not.

Re: Inconsistent Album Art Node
I recently started paying more attention to Album Art.
One problem I noted is that I can not see how to determine the source of the art.
e.g. If you have an embedded image and a folder.jpg, which Cover(front) is which?

Re: Inconsistent Album Art Node
You can always see it in Track Properties -> Album Art tab, you can see the cover order there and the types.
Another important note MM checks only the covers with (CoverOrder = 0), i.e. only the first cover that is shown in Album art views.

Re: Inconsistent Album Art Node
The cover that is shown in Album Art window is the first one listed in Track Properties -> Album Art pane despite the fact whether it is 'Cover(front)' or 'Cover(back)'. The 'Cover(front)' is just a tag like the Description.

Re: Inconsistent Album Art Node
Thank you for this explanation, now I know what the problem is... Some have a coverdescription and some have a coverpath. Now I can fix them.Ludek wrote:MM doesn't check whether PictureType (IMG, JPG, PNG) is different, MM only checks differencies in following fields: CoverType (back/front), CoverStorage (tag/file), CoverDescription, CoverPath.

Ludek:
Are you sure the CoverPath is one of the options the IAA node is checking? I removed all the descriptions from the Covers table and checked the node again, there should have been 8 albums listed since tracks from these 8 albums had a CoverPath, but they did not show up. Also, they may have not been listed because although the tracks had two covers, there were not two covers listed for them in the table.

Re: Inconsistent Album Art Node
As I have written, CoverPath is one of the attributes MM is checking. If all tracks on an album have same CoverPath and also same the remaining attributes then there is no need to show them under IAA node, because they have consistent AA.
