I've searched on this forum and almost completely solved my issues synching to the Droid, but alas, one pesky problem persists. This thread helped me greatly with getting everything in the actual folders I wanted, which I thought would have solved my issues. Sadly now, after the sync, none of my Music apps on the Droid can see the actual files to be played. "Music" on the Droid won't see anything at all that was synced by MM, but it WILL see files I manually dragged-and-dropped onto the card. Meanwhile, the "Mixzing" app will actually find and add the Album and Artist tags to the library, but won't see the actual files as songs.
Anyone else seen this? Any advice?

Re: Droid: Can't See the Music Files After Sync
Did you check the filesystem after the sync to see that the files you mean to copy over with MM are actually copied at all?

Need help? Got a suggestion? Can't find something?

Most definitely. They were there, and I could even browse to them and manually play them direct from the file browser.nohitter151 wrote:Did you check the filesystem after the sync to see that the files you mean to copy over with MM are actually copied at all?
After doing a lot more tooling around, I think I discovered the problem, and it was an interesting one. Do to certain long-winded particulars I won't detail right now, I keep my music collection on my hard drive sorted into the following folder structure:
C:\Files\MP3s\ as the main containing folder
C:\Files\MP3s\Tunes\ contains all my regular listening
C:\Files\MP3s\PODCASTS\ contains all my podcasts
C:\Files\MP3s\Books\ contains my audiobooks
When I synched to the Droid, I synched to:
(root)\MP3s\Tunes
and
(root)\MP3s\PODCASTS
After a few test syncs, all files in and underneath the \Tunes\ folder were read and played just fine. However, anything that was synched to the \PODCASTS\ folder was unable to be read by the Music or Mixzing apps, and only payed if I started them manually from the filesystem. These files did, however, appear tagged as albums and artists in Mixzing, although no actual tracks were listed.
If I copied the files out of the PODCASTS folder into any other, they were instantly seen by the music apps. Putting them back into PODCASTS made them vanish again. Synching anything else to PODCASTS kept that data hidden as well. Only by renaming the PODCASTS folder to just "Pods" was I able to fix it and preserve the directory structure I wanted. Renaming the folder worked just fine, too.
Very weird. After that I stopped fooling around with it. It could be that the Droid just doesn't like folders with all-caps names, but I'm not sure.
