Change artist but not album artist in properties?

How can I prevent 'album artist' from changing when I change the 'artist' field in the properties dialog?



1) Imagine I have a track with "Deep Purple" as both artist and album artist
2) I open the Properties | Basic dialog/tab
3) I change the 'artist' field from "Deep Purple" to "Deep Purple;Julio Iglesias" *
4) The 'album artist' field automatically changes to "Deep Purple;Julio Iglesias"
5) I change 'album artist' back.
6) I change the artist for a different track to "Deep Purple; Merle Haggard"
7) On this second change, the 'album artist' field does not change automatically.

So, it seems MM learns not to change after I make one correction. But how can I stop it from making that first automatic change?

You can't, only the second and subsequent changes it will no longer do so.

Thanks. Seems a little annoying default behaviour, since it will often be the case that a single track is a duet on a single artist's album.

Either way the behavior would cause issues as many people will be updating the Artist to the correct Artist and thus Album Artist should change along.
