Integration of MP3TAG & MediaMonkey possible?

Post by WimYogya »

Hi,
Just before iTunes started to perform annoyingly slow with my huge 80.000+ collection I found out about MP3TAG - which i LOVE.
A bit later I migrated my whole library to MediaMonkey - which i LOVE.
How great would it be to bring these two beloved ones together, so that I can tag/retag/edit all things necessary directly from within MM.
Any chance this would ever be made possible?
Maybe already steps set on that path?
Would be so nice.

I already found various MM-scripts which can perform actions similar to MP3TAG, but when I try to personalize them, I make easily 1000 mistakes, because I know NOTHING from scripting. MP3TAG is for taggers, not for scriptors. Easy to modify the settings to my preferences.
Who knows anything?
Thanks!

Thanks, I found, downloaded and installed it, but... I cannot find it in the 'toolbar submenu' as the topic tells and shows in pictures.
I don't have such submenu, nor can I find it in any other menu, only in the list 'extensions' but that is not the place to activate the application.
So, any idea where the external tools are gone?

It's a toolbar button. If you have questions I suggest you post in that topic.

Still no reply in either this or MP3TAG forum where I can find the external tools in the MM menu. Well, by coincidence I found them myself, well hidden: only accessible via right-click under TOOLS.
Isn't that a bit strange? If you find them in the rightclick menu under TOOLS, then why not in the main menu under TOOLS?

Those are 2 different things and it's up to the developer of the addon as to where items are made available.

It is also on the standard toolbar, depending on what skin you are using your icons may look different than the way they look on the screenshots of the forum. But if you scroll over your icons, the tooltips will identify which one is the one for External Tools.

sorry to keep bothering, but its really not there, not in any icon, not in one of the main menu dropdownlists (where I expect them first of all: the visible icons are the result of toolbar customizing, but before I can add the EXTERNAL TOOL icon to any toolbar, I must first be able to locate it in the toolbar overview. It's not there. Unless I look with blind eyes...
Btw: I use Vitrious Blue skin for MM4

Did you add any tools to the External Tools on the Option Sheet?? I just installed it and tested it with and without any tools assigned to it. On the Vitreous skin is looks like a squiggly circle, sorry don't know how else to describe it.

Yes, I installed MP3TAG and as said: I do find that app back in just ONE location - the rightclick context menu under TOOLS (preceeded with that squiggly circle which is the Vitrious Blue OPTIONS icon). But do you see your installed external tool in the main dropdown menu, under TOOLS? Or under TOOLBARS, as the application's thread shows in screen shots? I don't...

Awesome lowlander, thanx for pointing me to this script! Now all I have to do is select one file, hit my assigned keyboard shortcut and mp3tag pops up with displaying the track's parent directory, which allows me to edit the album's tags.
