Lookup CD information from Allmusic.com ?

Post by autobot.transformer »

Can someone tell me how I can lookup CD infor from Allmusic ? I could not find it in any menu...

I got this from the MM 2.5 feature list posted on the MM website:

"Lookup CD information on Freedb or via CD-TEXT, and find missing track details through music-related sites such as Allmusic."

Thanks.

I don't think MM2.5 supports AllMusic tagging because when you search the forum, you will find that it's illegal to use AllMusic's information in the current situation. And I also haven't found the feature yet in the new version.

So... I guess you have to take the "such as Allmusic" phrase as "Amazon". Anyway, it's no lie.
And Amazon is also very good, the only problem might be the sometimes wrong years they give.

Cheers

AllMusic.com does not allow you to TAG. It is a database with Album covers too, that can be saved and used in Media Monkey. You will need to gather the info that AllMusic offers and use it manually. It is a terrific resource.

thanks - I was hoping I could use it as a replacement for freedb which is gives pretty crappy information sometimes....
maybe they add it as a feature in a future release.

Other database lookups have been requested and are on the wishlist, but there are license issues and stuff which do limit the services which can be offered.
Download my scripts at my own MediaMonkey fansite.
All the code for my website and scripts is safely backed up immediately and for free using Dropbox.
