Update the actual used playlist if something has changed

Post by Marc »

Hi,
MM should update the actual used (auto) playlist if something has changed (recalculate the playlist after one song is finished?).
I use some "longest not played songs" auto playlist (like the inverse "last 50 played"). After the song is played the entry is marked with a new last played timestamp but the shuffle play can play it again in the same session because the playlist is not updated...
Still a update don't work, the Now Playing has still the original list. If I use "play now" again it starts with the new fist song in the list and not with a random one.

Marc,
I understand your point, but I'm not sure how this can be implemented in a usable manner.

i.e. If the 'Now Playing' list is continually auto-updated based on a dynamically updating auto-playlist, then MM would have the problem (which it already has with 'Shuffle') that the 'Now Playing' list is inacurate with respect to showing which songs are about to play next. Any tracks that are in the 'now playing' list are liable to be overwritten by the autoplaylist.

Currently, you could just as easily accomplish the same task by selecting your autoplaylist and pressing <enter> -- Isn't that simpler?

How about...

Not that I have a problem with this feature, but ...

How about that MM deletes the song once played (if no longer fits autoplaylist criteria) and adds a new song to end of Now Playing. MM would need to compare old and new playlist at end of song and delete entries no longer valid and append entries that have become valid at end of now playing.
This should always be optional as many users wouldn't want any autoupdating to go on.
