Sync loses all tags?

Post by ShivaFang »

Media Monkey 4.0.6.1501
Device: iPhone 3G (non-jailbroken, IDK if this matters)

I sync my TV shows - everything's fine. I watch a video, then try to sync again - no change at all (it doesn't update that I watched the file). I unplug the iPhone then plug it back in. It then updates the #played field, syncs the videos again (which deletes the watched video off the phone, which is what I want - because I have it set to only sync watched videos and delete files that are not being sync'd.)

However at this point, all atom tags are removed on the iPhone. Seasons, episodes, series name, everything! They look fine in media monkey (and manually deleting them from the phone and re-syncing with media monkey works as expected - but I shouldn't have to do that every time!)

Auto-sync settings
checked - Delete files and playlists not included in the Auto-sync list from the device.
exclude folders - Smart*.pla, \iPod_Control\Games_RO\
checked - Confirm deletion
unchecked - Auto-sync files from the device to PC
unchecked - confirm updates.

I originally had the last two settings CHECKED, but when I saw this behavioure I thought maybe these last two options were causing it, so I unchecked them and tried again - with the same result.

In the Tagging field, I have "Use only the first Genre when multiple Genres exist" checked (which was a default option). Everything else is unchecked.

Just following up, because I registered an account instead of posting as a 'guest'.

EDIT (Can't edit OP since I created it as a 'guest')
I've been reading some other threads and a common info request is iOS number, I see a line called 'Version' in the settings, is this what is needed?
Version 4.2.1

You should create a debug log (step 4b) capturing this loss of tags and send it to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=69
